Company History - A Success Story

During a trip to the US in 1986, Sylvia Büchele was introduced to designer rhinestone jewelry - the beginning of Booklet.de's infatuation. Shopping trips to antique markets in the US, France, Belgium and Italy soon followed, where the first rarities were found - pieces from the Hollywood era, from the Art Déco periods to the 'seventies, were discovered and acquired, thereby engendering an enormous marketing and collecting passion. 

Another type of jewelry had become popular, namely bakelite®, without a doubt the more complex of this interesting aspect of collecting. Fashionable in the 1920s, it faded into oblivion thereafter, and only relatively recently experienced a renaissance. Many fashion-conscious collectors wear bakelite® exclusively!

During these years our many shows and markets presented this special and unique jewelry, as well as other accouterments of those times.

As in life, all is flux and renewal, and genuine pearls thus found their way into the assortment. For over ten years a good working relationship has existed with the Yukie Pearl Company, a member of the DMPY Group, which has made a name for itself with Kasumigaura Pearls.

With the advent of the Internet, a name had to be chosen, and so came 'Booklet' into being, - inspired in the US, where the name 'Büchele' encountered difficulties... The Booklet company thus became known as specializing in that particular trade.
